Military & War Memorabilia Restoration
Our conservators often have items and artworks with links to World War II and other historically significant events. We can also care for historic and modern military pieces, including uniforms, maps and commemorative items.Â
We understand how personally significant military memorabilia may be for our clients, this is why we ensure that all items are treated with the same expertise afforded to traditional fine art when it comes to their preservation. Historic items our team has restored in the past include:
- Military cap and textilesÂ
- Wooden tray with military insignia
- YALTA conference map (pictured above)
- Artwork recovered from Paris during World War II
- Handwritten notes and autographs
As well as restoring damage following household disasters and accidents, age related deterioration can also be stabilised and reversed. Protective framing can be provided by our professional technicians, who use conservation appropriate, acid free materials to ensure safe preservation.
UV protective glass is given as an option for light sensitive items, such as handwritten notes that may otherwise fade. Uniforms and other three-dimensional pieces can also be safely displayed with bespoke framing arrangements.Â
