Accurate framing montage

Tom historic framing

At Fine Art Restoration Company our team of conservators and framing experts work with artistic and historic integrity at the forefront of their minds, which is why we offer a bespoke framing service alongside our professional conservation treatments.

When you are looking for a new frame we understand how important it is to know exactly what the final presentation will look like, for both your interior design choices and peace of mind when framing a valuable or sentimentally important artwork. This is why our framing team provides a tailored portfolio, displaying a range of appropriate options on your artwork before a decision is made. Our team is knowledgeable when it comes to art history and can advise you on the best style of frame for your artwork.

Historically accurate framing which can be provided by our team includes, but is not limited to, the following styles:

  • 18th century baroque and rococo styles with gilding and ornate details
  • 16th century renaissance frames with black and gold detailing
  • Dutch and flemish styles
  • Traditional carved oak and walnut frames
  • 19th century Victorian frames with accurate decorative features
  • Regency framing with neoclassical details
  • 19th century Whistler frames
  • Round or spandrel frames
  • Mid-century modern frames
  • Art deco and art nouveau frames

As well as choosing from a range of bespoke frames with different eras and styles, entirely new frames can also be produced based on those you may have seen in a gallery or elsewhere. This may be important if your artwork belongs to a very specific genre of art or era. Simply show a photograph of what you are looking for to our team and they will provide you with an image of the final presentation and the cost for this project. We are always happy to assist in creating the very best frame for your artwork and its display.

All of our framing is completed with a conservation approach, meaning that the finished bespoke product will be safe and secure for your artwork going forwards. This includes the avoidance of chemicals and acids, as well as the precise fitting of a canvas, panel, or even more unusual mediums to ensure their longevity.

If you are interested in historically accurate framing, please contact our team with an image of your artwork as well as the dimensions and any specific elements you would like to see included. We will then liaise with you to provide a portfolio of tailored framing options and further services if required.

Framing & Mounting

How much will it cost?

I found this company excellent to deal with. Even though I lived at almost the opposite end of the country they collected the damaged paintings and delivered all with the utmost care.

The restorers at Fine Art Restoration Company were a delight to work with. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and very helpful and patient. Their work was top-notch, both my paintings have given new life and completely renewed our experience of viewing them. Highly Recommended.
