Film Memorabilia Restoration
We can repair a poster, prop, figurine or even the most unusual items. Our team of expert conservators can assist you with the museum-grade preservation of film and television memorabilia, including UV protection for autographs and sensitive items.Â
Our team of experts can restore a wide range of memorabilia including paper, ceramics, paintings, textiles and even the most unusual materials. In our specialist studio, your treasured item can be cared for with the same professional skill and expertise provided to traditional fine art. Typical items our conservators can restore include:
- Posters (click here to read more)
- Lobby cards
- Figurines
- Props
- Costumes
- Replica items
- Photographs
- Paintings and murals
- Cinema paraphernalia
- Sculptural items
- Autographed items
Restoring damage and deterioration can help to maintain an item’s value, whether this is sentimental or monetary. The practical use of film props and vintage posters may have made them more susceptible to environmental damage, so we recommend that important pieces are always assessed for issues to prevent future decay.
Restoring Cinematic Greats
Memorabilia our team has worked on previously includes:
- Star Wars
- James Bond
- Singing in the Rain
- Disney Animation
- Looney Toons
- The Avengers (TV show)
- Lord of the Rings
Autographed items often fade over time due to the chemicals in the ink. The autograph itself cannot be retouched or altered for ethical reasons, but it can be protected from further fading and loss with specialist techniques in our studio.Â
Protective Framing
Our framing experts can assist in the safe display of posters, prints, textiles, and three-dimensional objects that require a large or unusual mount. All materials used in the framing process are conservation appropriate, ensuring that there is no risk of acid damage to paper or other senstive surfaces.
UV protective glass can also be provided to prevent fading, as well as museum glazing that allows for a clearer view with less reflection.Â
